About the Role

ARCHITECT Brand + Design Collective, a strategy building consulting firm focused on community-centered and diverse philanthropy, leveraging the best practices in storytelling, strategic marketing and inclusive fundraising strategies. Designed to be a coaching vehicle, we walk alongside small to medium-sized nonprofits to build their capacity for fundraising success. When you work for ARCHITECT, you can expect to work with a team who is dedicated to:

Building client partnerships based on mutual trust and an aligned vision of fundraising success. Learning about each client’s organization in a deep and meaningful way, including the specific challenges and opportunities they are facing.

Delivering exceptional research or recommendations on organizational donors, prospects, and funding opportunities that align with each client’s mission and/or service area.

Crafting high-quality proposals and an evolving “case for support” that accurately reflects where each client organization is today, and what major goals they seek to achieve in the future.

Helping each client organization overcome challenges -- often related to budgets, outcomes tracking, reporting, and other common structural or capacity issues -- that may have limited their fundraising success in the past.

Delivering and supporting a fundraising strategy that maximizes receipt of unrestricted dollars to support each client organization’s overall operations.

Providing ongoing fundraising guidance and strategy, supported by thoughtful processes and tools, that help guarantee long-term fundraising success.

Helping clients build impactful, long-term partnerships with donors or audiences by supporting outreach, cultivation, and stewardship activity in a strategic manner.

Delivering results by increasing fundraising revenue year-over-year, helping client organizations reach new levels of impact.

Requirements

  • Developing a fundraising strategy: A consultant can work with the nonprofit to assess its current fundraising efforts and develop a plan for how to increase revenue. This may involve identifying new sources of funding, creating a plan for cultivating relationships with donors, and setting fundraising goals.

  • Providing training and support: Consultants can provide training and support to nonprofit staff and volunteers to help them build the skills and knowledge they need to be successful fundraisers. This may include training on how to effectively communicate the organization's mission and impact, how to ask for donations, and how to steward and engage donors.

  • Identifying new fundraising opportunities: Consultants can help nonprofits identify new sources of funding and develop strategies for pursuing those opportunities. This may involve researching grant opportunities, identifying corporate sponsors, or developing strategies for online fundraising.

  • Conducting a fundraising audit: A consultant can conduct a thorough review of the nonprofit's fundraising efforts and provide recommendations for how to improve. This may involve analyzing the organization's donor database, reviewing fundraising materials, and assessing the effectiveness of current fundraising campaigns.

  • Providing interim leadership: In some cases, a consultant may be brought in to serve as interim leadership for the fundraising team while the organization searches for a permanent hire. The consultant can provide guidance and support to the team during this transition period.

Compensation + Revenue Split:

ARCHITECT wants to invest in the financial and overall well-being of our team members, and maintains a competitive compensation structure while allowing for a high degree of flexibility in our team members’ work + life schedules.

Compensation will be 60% of the billed deliverable for which the Consultant is responsible. For instance, a project for which a client is billed at $2,500 will result in $1,500 paid to the Consultant, assuming that the Consultant is 100% responsible for that deliverable. Shared deliverables between Senior Consultants/Advisors, Consultants and Partners are calculated accordingly.

Compensation details are reviewed on a quarterly basis with Partner(s).
